24 – Kiefer Sutherland

24 is an American television series produced for the Fox network, created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, and starring Kiefer Sutherland as counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer. Each season, comprising 24 episodes, covers 24 hours in Bauer’s life using the real time method of narration. Premiering on November 6, 2001, the show spanned 192 episodes over eight seasons; the series finale broadcast on May 24, 2010.

In addition, a television film, 24: Redemption, was broadcast between seasons six and seven, on November 23, 2008. 24 returned with a ninth season titled 24: Live Another Day, which aired from May 5 to July 14, 2014.

  • First Aired:  6th November 2001
  • Director:  Jon Cassar
  • Kiefer Sutherland:  Jack Bauer

The series begins with Bauer working for the Los Angeles–based Counter Terrorist Unit, in which he is a highly proficient agent with an “ends justify the means”approach, regardless of the perceived morality of some of his actions.  Throughout the series most of the main plot elements unfold like a political thriller. A typical plot has Bauer racing against the clock as he attempts to thwart multiple terrorist plots, including presidential assassination attempts, weapons of mass destruction detonations, bioterrorism, cyber attacks, as well as conspiracies that deal with government and corporate corruption.

Awards

24 won numerous awards over its eight seasons, including Best Drama Series at the 2004 Golden Globe Awards and Outstanding Drama Series at the 2006 Primetime Emmy Awards. At the conclusion of its eighth season, 24 became the longest-running U.S. espionage/counterterrorism-themed television drama ever, surpassing both Mission: Impossible and The Avengers.

Still want to see more of Jack Buer… Hope! …
What happened after Cloe shut down the monitor at CTU…. ?
Hope to get answers … at some point. 👍🏼

  • Well, I just finished binging on 24. All eight seasons. Not too shabby. Actually, it was great, and I’m not a big television fan. Hefty body count, though. What I can’t understand is why it hasn’t made it to the big screen. For crying out loud, the audience is there and waiting, panting, and the payout would be phenomenal. Jack on the run chased by the Russians, and just about everyone else. Make it exotic in far flung international locals. It has that three-sequel potential, or more. Better do it before Jack gets too old, though. Makeup can only go so far. And sooner or later the legs give out. I know.

  • Following up on my post, I’m just wondering who owns the rights to 24 and the character, Jack Bauer. That might be an obstacle. Structuring the TV format for a three-part feature film would be a challenge. Would you cram all twenty-four hours into 120 minutes? That would require skillful screenwriting, and risk losing something from the original – that tension that keeps the viewer wound up. The feds could employ Jack’s services on an international scale (WHERE’S THE BOMB!? WHERE’S THE BOMB?! YOU KNOW WHAT I CAN DO!!! BANG, CRUNCH, PUNCH!!!), although you wouldn’t want to turn it into another Bourne series. Running, running, running …. breathlessly running, and driving erratically. You could put Jack’s chop-suey skills to work fighting a slew of nefarious miscreants. Isis, Al Queda, Boko Haram, Hezbolla, not meaning to pick on just the Muslims. European Neo-Nazis are a good target. You don’t always need a nuclear end-of-the-world threat. How about the Chinese and Huawai trying to take over the tech world and spy on all of us. Maybe Jack sees the dark side of the emerging, pervasive surveillance society he was such a part of. Let the plot breath a bit more, expand the horizon. Anyway, just a thought. I’d pay to see it. And I bet Becky Broussard would also have loved to see the series continue in one form or another. Sniff. Sigh.

  • Hi kiefer
24!!!! You got to bring jack back 1 more time ( please )
The way live another day ended is a must to find out what happened to jack in the end. Even if he was killed.
WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW
    Please just one more

  • I think Jack Bauer will eventually be dead at the end of 24. We still don’t know kiefer’s plans about it. In 2015, he claimed that he’s done with Jack Bauer. But after 24 legacy was released, he said that he will come back as long as the story is good. You know what I am thinking ? There may be a movie just like 24 redemption that tells the audience the rescue of Bauer. Maybe. If they’re gonna make another season with kiefer, it will be the last one. • Good response in return of this matter with real arguments and describing the whole thing on the
